The Data Engineer will be a technical leader for our growing software development team and will help scale our products for our clients.  This team member will design, build and optimize systems for data collection, storage, access, and analytics (user-facing and internal BI) at scale.

  • Location: Remote Work & Denver, Colorado
  • Salary: $125,000-$145,000
  • Time Commitment: 9AM-5PM MST (Full-Time) Monday – Friday

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and iterate upon stable and production-quality ETL, compute, and analytics systems within existing microservice architectures to solve and improve both defined and open-ended data-centric & analytical challenges.
  • Communicate and incorporate complex data-centric challenges and solutions clearly to and from technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analyze systems to identify technical debt, instability, unreliability, and opportunities for improvement, design, document, and communicate solutions
  • Achieve technical excellence by advocating for and adhering to lean-agile engineering principles and practices such as API-first design, simple design, continuous integration, version control, and automated testing
  • Select and use the right tools, frameworks, languages, and technologies for the job, with a preference for open-source solutions
  • Collaborate with others as part of a cross-functional team that includes user experience researchers and designers, product managers, engineers, software architects, and other functional specialists
  • Verify and validate fellow developers’ code

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business, or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Linux based database and service infrastructures
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with and advanced proficiency in SQL, relational and columnar database architecture, query design and optimization, as well as OLTP vs OLAP principles (PostgreSQL, Redshift, etc)
  • Advanced proficiency in building and maintaining highly available and flexible RESTful service & async data management software (Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, etc)
  • Experience with full-text and document search capable databases (Elasticsearch, Apache SOLR, etc)
  • Experience or familiarity with the greater industry landscape of data compute, streaming, and ETL platforms, including advantages, disadvantages, appropriate and inappropriate use-cases, (Spark, Kafka/Kafka Streams, Hadoop, Storm/Heron, Flink, Kudu, Arrow, etc)
  • Experience with TDD and unit & integration testing principles
  • Advanced mathematical, analytical, and statistical proficiency
  • Ability to actively contribute to a positive and cohesive team environment 
  • Able to work with diverse, geographically distributed teams

  • Able to travel (occasionally)
  • Able to participate in virtual calls with video on
  • Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with container-based and infrastructure-as-code devops strategies such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS, etc
  • Experience with designing and implementing data visualization & charting (Chart.js, D3.js, plotly, etc)
  • Hands-on experience at least in one front-end scripting language i.e. Ruby, ReactJS, Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, (familiarity with React 17 preferred)
  • Experience or familiarity with AI/ML strategies & capabilities to the degree they could pertain to descriptive and prescriptive data analysis

The Senior Full Stack Engineer is an experienced software engineer that will provide their expertise to our growing software development team and helps scale our products for our clients.  This team member applies and oversees engineering principles, techniques and scientific methods in IT.  Develops and maintains software per company’s requirements with assistance from mid-level and lead developers. 

Key aspects of this position are to work with the VP of Engineering and the Lead Engineer through all phases of the software development cycle and serve as a mentor to mid-level developers.

  • Salary: $130,000-$160,000
  • Time Commitment: 9AM-5PM MST (Full-Time) Monday – Friday

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business, OR equivalent work experience
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and managing production-quality software executed within linux-based systems
  • Must have 5 years of hands-on experience with backend RESTful API development (Ruby on Rails preferred)
  • Must have 5 years of hands-on experience at least in one front-end framework i.e. ReactJS, Typescript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Javascript (familiarity with React 17 preferred)
  • Must possess 5 years of hands-on experience with databases i.e. PostgreSQL and Elasticache (Redis) preferred
  • Must have experience with TDD testing principles : rspec, capybara, Jest, and react-testing-library
  • Must have 3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Service 
  • Verify and validate fellow developers’ code
  • Ability to actively contribute to a positive and cohesive team environment 
  • Work effectively with Mobilize staff at all levels, in all departments
  • Able to work with diverse, geographically distributed teams
